Spend a few days at Rushmere Farm rogueing, eating and enjoying the company of good people.

Yoga is available to anyone every morning, 08:30 to 09:30, before the days activities, and 16:00 to 17:00 to wind down.

Starting at 10:00, On most days we will spend a few hours out in the fields pulling weeds such as ragwort and wild oats from the soil. This is known as 'rogueing' and is an important part of managing arable crops without the use of chemical herbicides. There will be lots of opportunity to learn about the growing practices and methods involved in producing organic grains and pulses, and loads of time to enjoy being on the farm, amongst the abundance of wildlife that is here, as well as getting involved in other projects. Evening meals will be at 19:00.

Wednesday: Veg day - help out on the market garden with vegetable growing and composting. In the evening we will host a Vision For Small Farms Workshop

Thursday: weeding, rogueing and plant dentification with the South Downs Ranger team followed by evening pizza making (free to volunteers)

Friday: wheat to bread workshop, rogueing followed by a supper of Salvadorean soup

Saturday: organic farm jobs with George followed by Salvadorean pupusas and DJ set in the The Woods

Sunday: bring your own picnic and try our pigeon burgers (cash only)

Non-volunteers are welcome to join for dinner (ticket booking above) on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

Volunteers' Thursday, Friday and Saturday dinners are covered by the £5 ticket price, though any donations are welcome. Get involved on Thursday with making pizzas in the wood fired oven on Thursday night and enjoy the cooking of our friends from El Salvador on Friday and Saturday evening. Cereal, fruit and oat milk will be provided for breakfast. You will be expected to provide your own picnic lunch each day, food can be bought from our growers 100m from the campsite, and from the shop in the village.

Please feel free to arrive on Tuesday 1st July and set up your tent in the camping field. If you would like to book a bell tent, yurt, shepherds hut or cottage please get in touch; these can all be booked by volunteers at a significantly reduced rate.
