Gatherings at Rushmere

Rushmere Farm hosts a small number of gatherings each year, shaped by care for land, wildlife and community. Set within a carbon-negative organic cereal farm in the heart of the South Downs National Park, gatherings here take place across 15 acres of ancient woodland, wildflower meadow and working farmland, with use of the woodland canopy, and outdoor spaces.

Stewardship & shared responsibility

Stewardship underpins how gatherings are held at Rushmere. It allows people to come together here — whether for work, celebration or reflection — without exhausting the land or turning it into a purely commercial space. This means gatherings are intentionally limited in number, scale and frequency, and are best suited to people who value place, simplicity and shared responsibility.

Types of gatherings we host

Rushmere currently offers the following types of gatherings on top of those events held for stewards, and volunteers:

Corporate & Team Offsites

Rushmere is particularly well suited to corporate offsites and team gatherings that value space, focus and a quieter pace.

Teams can make use of woodland canopy, barn spaces and outdoor areas for meetings, walking conversations and team-building, with the option of day or overnight events using our glamping village and self-contained accommodation.

These gatherings work best for organisations seeking clarity, reflection and connection rather than high-production events.

Weddings

Rushmere hosts a limited number of weddings each year.

Ceremonies and celebrations take place beneath a beautiful tree-lined canopy within ancient woodland, surrounded by wildflower meadow. Weddings can be paired with overnight stays for guests, allowing people to settle into the place and enjoy it fully.

Weddings at Rushmere are shaped by the land rather than imposed upon it, and are best suited to couples who value simplicity, landscape and care.

Retreats

Rushmere hosts occasional small retreats rooted in season, land and shared attention.

These may involve time outdoors, quiet reflection, walking, practical activity or shared meals, with the woodland and surrounding landscape playing a central role.

Retreats at Rushmere are intentionally low-key and work best for groups who are comfortable working with the land as it is, rather than requiring a fixed programme or infrastructure.

Tours & learning visits

Tours of the farm are offered occasionally, by arrangement.

They are informal and shaped by what is happening on the land at the time — from organic cereal growing and soil care to stewardship, wildlife and food systems.

Practitioners, workshops & shared use of space

Rushmere does not currently run a fixed programme of workshops.

We are, however, interested in hearing from practitioners who:

  • align with the values of the farm
  • are interested in becoming Stewards
  • or would like to explore renting space on a low-impact, stewardship-led basis

This might include bodywork, learning days, seasonal practices or small group work that fits naturally within the life of the farm.

A note on suitability

Rushmere is best suited to gatherings that are:

  • thoughtful rather than extractive
  • grounded rather than high-production
  • respectful of land, wildlife and neighbours

If this feels aligned, we’d love to hear from you.
