Volunteering
There are various opportunities to get involved, mostly on the market garden which requires lots of by-hand labour. There are also opportunities to get involved with habitat creation and conservation as well as on the arable side. If you would like to be regularly involved and engage in the whole ecosystem you may be interested in joining our stewardship scheme through which we are able to dedicate time to teaching and supporting you towards being a decision maker within the ecosystem.
Hampshire Market Garden
Community Volunteer Day on the market garden every Wednesday 10am – 3pm! Plus other opportunities to volunteer through the week. If you are interested in joining us, drop us an email to say you would like to come along.
We want to reconnect people with where their food is grown, and that is why we offer volunteering opportunities. To us our staff and volunteers are the heart of the market garden and we couldn’t operate without you. Our volunteer days can give you regular time outside, improve physical and mental wellbeing, provide a day with other like-minded people or help you learn new skills. Upon signing up to volunteer we will see what you would like to get out of attending our sessions, and help you achieve that.
Wild Rogues
In late June, in the lull before harvest we will host a group of volunteers on the farm for 5 days, to help us with arable and vegetable weeding, a necessary part of farming without chemicals. There will be a few hours of hard work every day, but plenty of time to enjoy the rich wildlife and learn about growing organic, grain, pulse and vegetable growing. Find out more here.
Workshops Without Borders
If you would like to help out on the last Friday of every month please get in touch and come along. We will be doing woodworking and forestry with a group of Refugees from the Portsmouth area, and it is a great opportunity to chat to amazing people from all over the world. You can help just by chatting, and making everyone feel at home, and if you don't have woodworking or cooking experience don't worry. Tea and coffee making, and washing up skills are a must. Book in here.
Please get in touch if you want to come and help out on the farm at any other time than those specified above. There's always lots to do; plant trees, count bees, get grubby knees...
