Stays at Rushmere

Rushmere Farm is a working organic farm — a place of food, wildlife and quiet — and a space many people come to walk, gather, rest and reconnect with the land.

Staying at Rushmere means spending time within a cared-for, working landscape.

Our cottages, yurts, shepherd’s hut and camping area sit within an organic farm shaped by long-term stewardship — a way of farming and hosting that prioritises soil health, wildlife, food production and shared responsibility over short-term use.

Spending time at Rushmere

Many guests come to Rushmere to slow down and stay close to the land, but if you’d like to explore beyond the farm, there are footpaths, villages and the wider South Downs nearby.

A stay that supports land and people

Time spent at Rushmere is intentionally simple and grounded. Guests are invited to slow down, notice the land, and enjoy being part of a place that is lived in and worked — not set aside as a backdrop.

A proportion of the farm’s wider income also supports refugee communities who are currently unable to work. If you’d like to understand more about this during your stay, we’re always happy to share the story of how this fits into the life of the farm.

Food, grown close by

Vegetables and fruit grown within 200 yards of your accommodation can be ordered during your stay, alongside other supplies from Hampshire Veg Box. This keeps food miles low and supports a local growing network that works in step with the farm.

Stewardship & stays

Stewardship helps make stays at Rushmere possible.

Stewards receive priority booking and discounts on selected accommodation, and guests who return regularly are warmly invited to consider stewardship as a way of supporting the land and spaces they enjoy.
