Harvest Subscription
From April to December, you harvest fresh, pesticide-free vegetables directly from the land every week. Additionally, you can harvest unlimited herbs and pick your own bouquet of flowers every week. With many different types of vegetables and herbs, you eat with the seasons and get a large part of your weekly groceries from the land.
Rushmere Farm took on the market garden in June 2026, and is working hard to provide a broad and varied selection of vegetables throughout the year. The current range is limited and for that reason the current subscription price is heavily discounted. Your support now is essential to us being able to nourish you and others in the future.
How does it work?
You start with a personal tour, where you learn how and what to harvest. After that, you are welcome at the farm every week. You can drop by on any day of the week, from sunrise to sunset. You bring what you need; we do this based on trust. In order to join you must be a Steward of Rushmere, and therefore have access to all of the Steward benefits including seasonal activities, educational walks, access to our spaces and discounts on our products.
What do you get?
- You harvest fresh vegetables, herbs, and cut flowers for up to 37 weeks, straight from the land, pesticide-free, and locally grown.
- You eat about 20 types of seasonal vegetables and fresh herbs every week.
- You enjoy a moment of peace and slowing down every week, surrounded by greenery.
- You contribute to a local food system that strengthens biodiversity both in and above the soil.
- You pay a fair price that fits your wallet.
- You know where your food comes from and avoid unnecessary food miles.
- You get to know the farmers and become part of our community of fellow harvest workers.
What is not provided?
- We have no option for a volunteer labour contribution to weekly harvest subscriptions. Many of our volunteers are already Stewards and benefit from our the community that they have built here as well as from the broad offer that the subscription provides, the delicious lunches provided on volunteer days and seasonal gluts.
- If you miss a week you cannot have two baskets. There is of course some flexibility, however the weekly price for food provided as part of this subscription is incredibly good value and designed with the view that not everyone will make it every week.
Rushmere Market Garden is run by 'Rushmere Corner Community Interest Company', which means it is not for profit and is designed to be a part of and benefit the community. Our community are our volunteers and our customers, whom we could not do without, and also, our community are groups of refugees based in Portsmouth, school groups from Hambledon, Horndean and Havant, and every person that walks past.
