Hosting is part of stewardship.
The principle is simple. If you know the place well, and take responsibility for it, then you can use it.
Engaged stewards are trusted to organise and run their own gatherings without our involvement. That trust matters. It means you look after the space, the people, and the experience. It means you leave things as you would expect to find them. Where that works, we can keep things open, flexible, and low cost.

Local Stewards
Can attend gatherings for free and host at 10% off standard event pricing
Engaged Stewards
Can host small gatherings for free, and receive 20% off standard event pricing for larger events
Engaged Steward Hosting
- Small gatherings (up to 12 people)
- Free use of the cattle yard or woodland
- Weekdays, between 10am and 4pm. Weekends may be possible at quieter times.
- Fully self-run. No setup or involvement from us
- Local stewards attend for free
- Non-stewards pay £10 via the website
- Hosts may charge on top if they wish
Larger gatherings (more than 12 people)
Where numbers increase, or where there is more impact on the farm, events move into a reduced-rate hire.

- Local stewards receive 10% off
As a guide discounted prices for engaged stewards range from £40 per hour for barn rental for up to 15 people to £5,700 for a full-day woodland event (up to 120 people). Exact pricing depends on numbers, timing, space, and setup.
Guests and use of the farm
We have guests staying on the farm throughout the week. If your gathering is open and guests can take part, or benefit from it, this improves the overall experience and will often reduce costs. Private or exclusive events are more likely to carry a higher fee.
Responsibility
As host, you are responsible for the group, resetting the space properly, and letting us know if anything needs attention.
