Food & Farming

We grow cereals and other crops using organic, regenerative practices that prioritise soil health, biodiversity and long-term productivity. Our aim is not simply to reduce harm, but to actively improve the land — building fertility, storing carbon and creating space for wildlife alongside food production. Producing high-quality, nutrient-dense food depends on healthy ecosystems. That’s why farming here is closely tied to habitat management, careful rotation, and an approach that works with natural systems rather than against them.

Farming, stewardship & visitors

Rushmere is also shared. Guests staying on the farm, people attending gatherings, and those who choose to become Stewards all help support the farming system. This shared model reduces pressure to intensify production and allows the farm to grow in ways that remain ecologically sound. Visitors often have the opportunity to learn about:

  • organic farming and food systems
  • the relationship between soil health and human health
  • how land management supports wildlife and climate resilience

This learning happens informally, through walks, conversations and shared time on the land.

Food grown here

The products available below come directly from Rushmere Farm or from closely connected local growers who share similar values. Buying food from the farm helps:

  • support organic farming at a local scale
  • keep food miles low
  • fund continued investment in soil and habitat care

This is food shaped by place, season and stewardship.
